What is Virtual Instructor Led Training?...
Virtual Instructor Led-Training (or vILT) is training that is delivered in a virtual environment rather than in a traditional classroom setting. The training is delivered in real-time by an instructor, just as you would expect in a classroom, but is usually delivered via a video conferencing platform, like Zoom.
The "v-ILT" Workshop will provide an introduction and overview to the principles and techniques of Virtual Instructor-Led Training to prepare you to engage learners in the virtual classroom.
Who should attend? Community Health Workers, CHW Supervisors, CHW Program Managers, and CHW Instructors. (Instructors from other backgrounds are also encouraged to attend).

Meet Your Instructor
Known as “The Trainer’s Trainer”, Quisha Umemba is the CEO of Umemba Health LLC. She is a subject matter expert in public health and population health strategies that support workforce development and organizational performance, and she sought out for her expertise in clinical subject matters. Boasting multiple certifications and an impressive work history, Quisha has developed, implemented, and overseen numerous health initiatives and community collaborations throughout her 20+ years of experience. A nurse with a public health background, Quisha has a multifaceted, blended expertise that enables her to design uniquely specialized curricula and training programs with multi-level interventions. The result of her training programs is a multidimensional skillset that learners are immediately able to apply to the real world, improving public health and changing lives one person at a time.

Will continuing education be provided for this workshop?
Yes! Umemba Health is a Texas DSHS-approved provider of CHW and CHW Instructor certification and continuing education. (Certificate #64, Expiration 3/2025). Our courses and trainings may also qualify for Category II CECH for Certified Health Education Specialists and towards AAMA continuing education hours for Medical Assistants.
What will I be able to do after I complete this training?
Great question! After this workshop, you can use this educational experience to apply to work as a virtual instructor, trainer, or facilitator, or to improve your skills as a CHW Trainer.

This workshop will provide techniques on virtual facilitation and how to engage learners in a virtual environment
What do I need to participate in this workshop?
English proficiency (written and spoken), laptop or computer, reliable high-speed internet/WIFI, webcam, and willingness to commit to the entire 4- hour workshop.
