"Developing a training curriculum can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be!"
What is the "Curriculum Development” Workshop?
The Curriculum Development workshop teaches how to develop well-designed curricula that deepens learning and supports students in gaining important core competencies.The workshop is designed to provide a simple yet effective process that eliminates the guesswork and stress of curriculum development. Participants will receive actionable steps that help them focus on what students will learn, and how students will learn.
This a 2-hour “work” shop, meaning this learning activity will include discussions and activities related to the topic. Please come fully invested in the learning process (working, thinking, processing, doing, creating, and interacting). At the end of the workshop and after completion of the workshop pre-assessment and post-evaluation, you will receive a certificate of completion.
Who Should Attend? Anyone in a position to influence content development of training programs. This can include teachers, instructors, facilitators, trainers, and other Learning and Development professionals.

Will continuing education credits be provided for this workshop?
Yes! Umemba Health is a Texas DSHS-approved provider of CHW and CHW Instructor certification and continuing education. (Certificate #64, Expiration 3/2024). This training has been approved for 2.0 Continuing Education credits. Our courses and trainings may also qualify for Category II CECH for Certified Health Education Specialists and towards AAMA continuing education hours for Medical Assistants.
How is this workshop different from the "Train-the-CHW Trainer" Workshop?
Great question! This workshop does not provide a personalized blueprint to get started training CHWs. This workshop only focuses on developing curricula that engages learners.
How is the LIVE workshop different from the Curriculum Development online course?
The LIVE workshop provides an opportunity for you to ask questions in real time and get answers addressing your unique situation. The LIVE workshop is interactive and allows the opportunity for you to practice certain skills with guided direction. There is no opportunity to do this with the online course.
Will this workshop teach me how to open my own CHW Training Academy?

What will I be able to do after I complete this training?
This is a professional development opportunity for Learning & Development professionals. This workshop will take you through a step-by-step process for developing curricula that will meet continuing education accreditation standards. You can use this training to apply to work as an Instructor or to improve your skills as a CHW Trainer.
What do I need to participate in this workshop?
English proficiency (written and spoken), laptop or computer, reliable high-speed internet/WIFI, webcam, and willingness to commit to the entire 4- hour workshop.
What languages is the workshop offered in?
All courses and workshops are offered in English only at this time.
